Getting around Lānaʻi for a date (checked Nov 2, 2026)
- The Expeditions passenger ferry runs three round trips a day between Māʻalaea Harbor on Maui and Mānele Harbor on Lānaʻi. Boats leave Maui at 6:30 a.m., 11 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. and leave Lānaʻi at 8:30 a.m., 1 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. The crossing takes about 1 hour 10 minutes. Source: go-lanai.com. Expeditions has not yet resumed sailing from Lahaina (Hawaii.com, Sept. 29, 2026).
- Expeditions advises arriving 45 minutes early, and boarding closes 10 minutes before departure. The 5:30 p.m. boat is the last one back to Maui, so a Maui–Lānaʻi day date has to end by then.
- Many roads outside Lānaʻi City are unpaved. Most first dates stay in or near Lānaʻi City or Mānele Bay.
Joining is free and needs no card. Women can also try Kamaʻāina Basic free for 1 month. The trial needs a card and renews at $9.99/month unless you cancel before it ends (terms).
