Kamaʻāina Date exists for real people across Hawaii's islands to build genuine connections. These guidelines explain what's expected of every member and what happens when they're not followed.
Every profile has a Report and Block option. Reporting flags the account for review by our team — it does not notify the other person, and you can block someone with or without filing a report.
Impersonation, harassment, threats, sexual content involving minors (reported immediately to NCMEC and law enforcement per federal law), solicitation, and suspected scam or financial-fraud accounts.
Misleading profile information, inactive or suspected fake accounts, inappropriate photos that don't meet our photo guidelines, and spam.
Verified accounts have submitted a selfie that our team has manually compared against their profile photos. A verification badge means a person matched their photos at the time of review — it is not a guarantee of someone's intentions and should not replace your own judgment.
Depending on severity, an account may receive a warning, a temporary suspension, or a permanent ban. Threats, harassment, and impersonation result in immediate permanent bans on first confirmed offense. We do not disclose the specific reason a report was filed to protect the reporting member.
We encourage meeting in public places for early dates, telling a friend your plans, and using your own transportation. Kamaʻāina Date does not conduct criminal background checks on members, and you should not assume verification is a substitute for your own caution.
