Kamaʻāina Date exists for real people across Hawaii's islands to build genuine connections. These guidelines explain what's expected of every member and what happens when they're not followed.

Prohibited content and conduct (Acceptable Use Policy)

These rules are our Acceptable Use Policy and apply to profiles, photos, messages and any other use of Kamaʻāina Date. The following are strictly prohibited:

Child sexual exploitation or abuse, including child sexual abuse material (CSAM). Any sexualization of minors is banned. Apparent CSAM is preserved and reported to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) as required by 18 U.S.C. §2258A, and the account is permanently banned.
Sexual violence, including sexual assault, coercion, threats of sexual harm, or content that promotes or glorifies it.
Non-consensual content, including sharing or threatening to share intimate images without consent ("revenge porn"), sextortion, hidden-camera content, and posting anyone's photos or personal information without their permission.
Human trafficking, sex trafficking or sexual exploitation, including advertising, soliciting or arranging commercial sex, prostitution or escort services, and recruiting, coercing or controlling any person.
Sexually explicit profile content, including nudity, sexual acts and sexually explicit photos, text or links in profiles or messages.
Scams or fraud intended to defraud users, including romance scams, catfishing, requests for money, gift cards, crypto or financial information, investment schemes, and phishing.

Dating and relationships only: no sexual solicitation, even between consenting adults

Kamaʻāina Date is for dating and relationships only. Sexually driven interactions are prohibited on the platform, whether or not they are consensual. This includes:

Soliciting, offering or arranging sex or hookups, including casual sex, “friends with benefits” or one-night-stand requests;
Offering, advertising or requesting sexual services of any kind, paid or unpaid, including escorting, massage-for-sex and webcam or adult-content services;
Sexting, or requesting, sending or exchanging sexual photos, videos, audio or other sexual content;
Sugar arrangements (“sugar daddy/sugar baby”), pay-per-meet, and any other transactional companionship or relationship in exchange for money, gifts or other benefits;
Sexually explicit or sexually suggestive messages, usernames, profile text or photos.

These rules apply even when both people agree. Violations result in removal of the content and termination of the account, and commercial sex or exploitation is reported to law enforcement.

Enforcement

Violations of the rules above result in removal of the content and permanent termination of all associated accounts, and may be reported to law enforcement. Child sexual exploitation is always reported to NCMEC. We may preserve relevant records and cooperate with valid legal process as described in our Law Enforcement Guidelines. Less serious violations may receive a warning or temporary suspension.

How to report

Use the Report button on any profile or chat, or email kamadate@proton.me with the profile link and what happened. If anyone is in immediate danger, call 911. You can also report child sexual exploitation directly to NCMEC's CyberTipline at report.cybertip.org, and suspected trafficking to the National Human Trafficking Hotline at 1-888-373-7888.

Before you report something

Every profile has a Report and Block option. Reporting flags the account for review by our team — it does not notify the other person, and you can block someone with or without filing a report.

What gets reviewed first

Reviewed within 24 hours

Impersonation, harassment, threats, sexual content involving minors (reported immediately to NCMEC and law enforcement per federal law), solicitation, and suspected scam or financial-fraud accounts.

Reviewed within 72 hours

Misleading profile information, inactive or suspected fake accounts, inappropriate photos that don't meet our photo guidelines, and spam.

Verification standard

Verified accounts have submitted a selfie that our team has manually compared against their profile photos. A verification badge means a person matched their photos at the time of review — it is not a guarantee of someone's intentions and should not replace your own judgment.

Account actions

Depending on severity, an account may receive a warning, a temporary suspension, or a permanent ban. Threats, harassment, and impersonation result in immediate permanent bans on first confirmed offense. We do not disclose the specific reason a report was filed to protect the reporting member.

Off-platform safety

We encourage meeting in public places for early dates, telling a friend your plans, and using your own transportation. Kamaʻāina Date does not conduct criminal background checks on members, and you should not assume verification is a substitute for your own caution.
