Hilo side

Downtown Hilo is one of the most genuine, unspoiled small towns in Hawaii — the kind of place that hasn't been touched by resort development and retains an authenticity that the Kona side has largely lost. The farmers market (Wednesday and Saturday) is one of the best in the state, with genuinely local produce, tropical flowers, and prepared foods.
